Management of Quinta da Fonte

The British Retirement Association, is officially an ‘IPSS – Instiuição Particular de Solidariedade Social’ (a not-for-profit, benevolent institution).

The Association owns and runs the British Retirement Home, which is licensed by the Portuguese Social Security System as a ‘lar para idosos’ or ‘care home for older people’. Quinta da Fonte is subject to periodic inspections by the responsible Portuguese authorities.

The Association is managed through a Board of Directors of 5 volunteers elected by the Association Members. The Board have their activities overseen by a 3 member Fiscal Board which is also elected by the members.

Quinta da Fonte is led by an in-house general director (English Speaking) appointed and supported by the Board of Directors and assisted by a Technical Director.
